SPATH

Society for the Promotion of Appropriate Technology and Housing, Cameroon

SPARC, Pakistan

As well known, the SPARC has contributed through its work to rich experience not only in the field of art but also to village development. Appropriate Technology including Housing, specially with traditional construction methods and local materials have been put in the limelight in these efforts. Also the spreading of Appropriate Technology in urban areas, -here specially of academic value to students.
Whenever help is needed by rural NGOs, SPARC is glad to help through its experience, knowledge and contacts.

The planning and establishment of a trend-setting project, which serves not only the rural population but also the possibility of training and experience to city-dwellers, requires special support, specially when the young people are to take advantage of these efforts. While one side collects practical experiences, the other side is confronted directly by problems related to the City-Village divide.

About

Thanks to the successful work of CAT (NGO), the municipalities and other institutions could be actively engaged in new efforts. Mini Hydro-Power-Stations and Photo Voltaic installations, together with Housing (construction under consideration of tradition, climate and local possibilities) are projects led and supported by SPATH, which requires a new form of cooperation and support.
